Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the IMPLAN Download Automation Chrome extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our extension to automate downloads from IMPLAN.

Important: This extension does not collect data from any websites except implan.com.

Information We Collect

1. IMPLAN Authentication Tokens

The Extension collects and temporarily stores two IMPLAN-issued authentication cookies — rack.session and CSRF-TOKEN — which function as short-lived session tokens. These are required for the extension to automate downloading your IMPLAN results.

These session tokens:

• Are issued by IMPLAN.com when you log in
• Are not your password and cannot be used to sign in outside your active browser session
• Are collected only when you are on IMPLAN results pages
• Are used solely to authenticate download requests that you initiate
• Are transmitted securely (HTTPS) to our backend service at resultsdownloader.com
• Expire automatically when your IMPLAN session ends
• Are never sold, shared, or used for any purpose outside download automation
• Are never collected from any websites other than implan.com

2. Account Link Token

When you visit the download page at resultsdownloader.com, the extension receives an opaque account link token that associates your extension with your resultsdownloader.com account. This ensures your IMPLAN credentials are stored privately and only accessible to you.

• The link token is delivered securely via Chrome's built-in externally_connectable messaging (origin-verified by Chrome)
• Stored in chrome.storage.session — memory only, automatically cleared when you close your browser
• The link token does not contain your user ID, email, or any personal information
• It can only be used to associate IMPLAN session tokens with your account — it cannot read your data or act on your behalf
• A new token is issued each time you visit the download page, automatically invalidating the previous one

3. Technical Details

• IMPLAN token domain: analytics.implan.com (IMPLAN's authentication domain)
• IMPLAN tokens: stored in chrome.storage.local (persists across browser restarts, not synced to Google account)
• Account link token: stored in chrome.storage.session (memory only, cleared on browser restart)
• The extension does not read, inspect, analyze, or modify any page content

4. Usage Information

We collect minimal usage information to improve the Extension:

• Timestamps of when credentials are synced
• Extension installation and usage status
• Error logs for troubleshooting purposes

5. Download Requests

When you initiate downloads through our service:

• Download parameters (regions, impact types, industries)
• Number and size of downloads
• Download completion status

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for:

• Service Provision: To authenticate your requests to IMPLAN and enable automated downloads
• Account Association: To ensure your IMPLAN credentials are stored privately and only accessible to your account
• Service Improvement:To diagnose and fix issues, and improve the Extension's functionality
• Security: To detect and prevent abuse or unauthorized access

Data Storage and Security

We take your privacy and security seriously:

• Local Storage:IMPLAN session tokens are stored in Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local — not synced to your Google account)
• Session Storage:Account link tokens are stored in Chrome's session storage (chrome.storage.session — memory only, cleared on browser restart)
• Isolation: All extension storage is isolated and cannot be accessed by websites or other extensions
• Encryption: All data transmission between the Extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption
• Per-User Isolation: Your IMPLAN credentials are stored separately from other users and can only be accessed with your authenticated session
• No Password Storage: We never collect, store, or have access to your IMPLAN username or password. We only collect session tokens issued by IMPLAN.
• Access Control: Your tokens are only accessible to you and are not shared with third parties

Our Backend Service

Important Clarification: This extension uses our own backend service at resultsdownloader.com — this is NOT a third-party service.

• IMPLAN Integration:The Extension accesses IMPLAN's website and API using your authenticated session tokens. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by IMPLAN Group LLC.
• Our Backend Service: Your authentication tokens (session cookies) are sent to our servers at resultsdownloader.com where we use them to make API requests to IMPLAN on your behalf for download automation.
• No Third Parties: We do NOT share, sell, or transfer your data to any third-party services, advertising networks, analytics companies, or data brokers.

Data Sharing & Privacy Commitment

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. Your authentication tokens are used exclusively by our backend service for the core purpose of this extension: automating IMPLAN data downloads.

In accordance with Chrome Web Store policies, we certify that:

• Your data is NOT being sold to third parties, outside of approved use cases
• Your data is NOT being used or transferred for purposes unrelated to core functionality
• Your data is NOT being used or transferred to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
• Infrastructure Providers: With trusted infrastructure providers (e.g., hosting services) who help us operate our backend service, under strict confidentiality agreements. These providers do not have independent access to your data.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Uninstall the Extension at any time
• Request deletion of your stored credentials
• Request information about what data we have collected
• Opt out of any optional data collection

Data Retention

IMPLAN session tokens are retained only while your IMPLAN session is active. Account link tokens are cleared automatically when you close your browser. Usage logs are retained for up to 90 days for troubleshooting purposes.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
